Ingredients with Purpose

Oat Bran - our proprietary oat bran is ground and sifted to provide high oat fiber.  Each obi bar contains as much fiber as a bowl of steel-cut oats with 4 grams of oat fiber and 2 grams of soluble oat fiber (beta-glucan) , which reduces cholesterol.  Oat fiber also contributes to digestive and gut health and is gentler on your digestive system than extracted fibers such as inulin.

Almonds - California almonds and almond butter contribute protein and fiber to the obi bar.  Almonds are the healthiest of the tree nuts. They have one of the highest levels of protein and fiber and relatively low levels of saturated fats.  Multiple studies show that almonds lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol.
Egg Whites - Midwest dried egg whites are a rich source of protein and contain no fat or cholesterol.  The protein in egg whites is also a complete protein, providing all essential amino acids.
Dates - California dates are a natural sweetener and a binder.  The sugar from dates is accompanied by fiber, which slows the sugar's absorption into the bloodstream compared to processed sugar syrups used in most bars.  Dates also contribute to potassium.
Honey - only enough natural honey to moisten the oat bran in the obi bar.  Honey also provides a natural preservative for obi bar.  Honey and all-natural fruit juice are the only added sugars.  Most other bars use processed sugars such as rice syrup. Our honey is True Source Certified that can be traced to the hive of origin and can be tested for authenticity.
Blueberries - obi bar blueberry is packed with natural blueberries, slightly diced to absorb moisture and flavor to recreate the tangy taste of fresh blueberries.  Blueberries are rich in fiber and antioxidants.  Obi bar also incorporates a dash of natural blueberry juice to enhance this blueberry taste.
Sunflower Seeds - high oleic sunflower oil to maintain a soft texture.  This oil is expeller pressed from varieties of sunflower seeds high in monosaturated fats, the healthiest dietary fats.  High oleic sunflower oil is higher in monounsaturated fats and lower in saturated fats than light olive oil. Sunflower lecithin is used as a natural emulsifier.  Sunflower lecithin has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol and has anti-inflammatory effects.
Mediterranean Sea Salt - salt acts as a natural preservative (with honey) and taste enhancer.  Obi bar uses no artificial preservatives such as vegetable glycol.  The sodium in the obi bar comes from salt and egg whites.  We take care in our formulation so that the sodium level is below 10% of the FDA dietary guidelines for daily sodium consumption.
